What excites you the most about your upcoming fellowship with our foot and ankle surgeon?

I feel blessed to have the opportunity to train under an internationally renowned F&A surgeon in Dr. Dujela. I am excited for the complex reconstructive procedures, clinical pearls from Dr. Dujela, seeing the improvement in patients’ health, and reflecting on my growth/development after.

What excites you the most about being in the Pacific Northwest?

Being outdoors. I’ve been hiking at Mt. Rainier and Olympic already, and I’m very excited to explore more!

Why did you choose to specialize in foot and ankle orthopedics?

I sustained a Jones fracture in my foot playing soccer my senior year of high school. I discovered orthopedics shortly after this and found the instant gratification and healing power of surgical interventions (for both the patient & surgeon) to be very appealing. I feel I can have a significant impact on someone’s quality of life through this specialty.

If you could describe your approach to patient care in three words, what would they be?

Empathetic with patients with lower extremity pathologies after my own experience with a traumatic injury.

Fun Fact: What’s one thing your patients might be surprised to learn about you?

I like country music, apparently that’s frowned upon here.

Do you have a favorite quote or motto that guides your practice?

“The good physician treats the disease; the great physician treats the patient who has the disease.”
— William Osler

What’s your favorite part about working at Washington Orthopaedic Center?

In my short time here, I’ve appreciated the family atmosphere. After traveling across the country, my car had issues with the brake system. Everyone was super helpful with recommendations on where to take my car. I’ve already felt very welcomed!
